Why plant-based essential fatty acids in Wellspring?
Much has been studied and written about the benefits of essential fatty acids (EFAs). Yet few realize that DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) are derivatives of essential fatty acids. We provide plant-based sources of essential fatty acids that allow your body to make EPA and DHA as needed, without overdosing your body with derivatives.

Our process provides a nutritionally-dense plant material that is highly concentrated in LA and ALA parent essential oils. Only the water and fibrous material are removed so that all phytonutrients are retained.
Unfortunately, most Omega-3 supplements on shelves are in liquid form which means they are highly refined and processed. This also means they include very large quantities in the hope the body will absorb a small amount. With Wellspring, every nutrient is readily available to the body.
Can children take Wellspring?
Yes. Wellspring is a whole-food based supplement that is safe for all ages, and many nutritional guidelines call for incorporating essential fatty acids in children’s diets. To make a serving proportional to a child’s size, provide one capsule daily, or open up the capsule and add the powder to food or a healthy smoothie.
Is Wellspring ok to take during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Wellspring is not intended for pregnant women due to the concentration of turmeric root in the product. As with every supplement, each person should consult with their health care professional.
What is a serving size of Wellspring?
Two capsules are a serving of Wellspring and provide 1,000 mg of our Proprietary Omega 3-6-9 Antioxidant Blend for heart and joint wellness.*
Can I take more than one serving a day of Wellspring?
Yes. Sourced from whole foods (not drugs) Wellspring is safe and efficacious and can be taken as desired. People with particular interest in heart and joint health may increase the number of servings to two or more (4 or more capsules) a day.
Why is Wellspring yellow?
Like all our nutritional supplements, the color comes from the natural compounds in food (never anything artificial). In the plant world, bright colors often signify nutritious phytochemicals. For Wellspring, the distinctive color comes from turmeric root and its active compound curcumin.
Is Wellspring PA-Free?
Yes, Wellsping is PA-Free. PA (Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids) can be present in the borage plant and are considered potentially toxic to the liver. Our supplier takes additional steps during extraction to remove any PAs present in the plant, without the use of chemicals. Borage oil is GRAS certified (Generally Recognized as Safe) by the FDA as safe for use in foods.
Is Wellspring approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)?
The Food and Drug Administration does not “approve” any food or dietary supplements, including those of Touchstone Essentials. Only drugs receive approval from the FDA for the treatment of disease.
As whole food supplements, our products are “regulated” by the FDA as it relates to what ingredients are permitted in foods or supplements, and whether ingredients have achieved GRAS status with the FDA(Generally Recognized As Safe).
